The Swedish hardcore band exploded onto the stage like an excited person opening their newly purchased Ikea flat pack furniture (pardon the pun) just dying to assemble the pieces, Adept were this excited to once again be playing the UK. With New album ‘Silence The World’ Now under their belts, the boy’s cranked things up a notch as they dominated the room with their specific blast of noise.

Lead vocalist Robert Ljung may resemble a shorter version of James Veck-Gilodi from Deaf Havana but wow he sure does pack a punch. He threw himself around the small room in amongst a rage of screams, like a smurf who forgot to take his Ritalin. Their performance provided more than just monotonic and lacklustre screaming like some bands of the genre. It was fast, it was furious and it was highly entertaining.

The crowd interaction was besieged with humorous banter. As Guitarist Jerry Repo disappeared from the stage at one point during the show, Robert shouted after him “You’re officially out of the band Jerry, You, your stupid name and your fucking blonde hair with you”. As the Chorus hits like a tsunami the band jump in unison. The whole set was filled with these Titanic style drops ready to wash the crowd away in a whirlpool of mosh pits.

Adept’s set was furiously energetic and laddishly funny. The crowd hung on their every word and everybody in the room was moving and jumping participating in the ferocious rapidness. Although their album may be called ‘Silence The World’ that’s the opposite of what the band do. With their boisterous screaming and throttling guitars it’s hard to keep these guys from upping the decibel levels in any room.
