Ushuaia is a new state of the art concept designed to take daytime clubbing to a new level. The first thing you must remember if you do decide to attend Ushuaia is that the club starts at 17:00pm and finishes at 12:00am, allowing you the added bonus to carry on partying.
Ushuaia is only a short taxi ride from Ibiza town in the vibrant resort of Playa d'en Bossa. As you get closer to Ushuaia you soon realise there is something different going on here. Over the road is the club Space which also holds its world famous daytime clubbing events. Once you enter Ushuaia the vibe and atmosphere is overwhelming. The beauty of the hotel stands out and with the centre piece being the impressive swimming pool and then suddenly you notice the massive stage which ironically does have presence. While visiting I would strongly recommend a drink at the beach bar while the sun sets, as this is an excellent way to enjoy the vibe prior to the main event.
The opening party was held on Friday 5 July 2013 for Le Grand Bazaar which was hosted by the world famous Pete Tong. Pete Tong was joined by Tensnake, Nervo and the surprise of the night was R&B sensation Pharrell Williams.
Nervo dropped tracks to please and excite the crowd and specifically to hype everyone up for the main event. The crowd were waiting in anticipation when at 10:30pm Pharrell suddenly arrived with a typical entourage of security. Arriving on the stage and excited by the crowd, he shouted out, "Are you guys ready to party or what?!" Starting his set with ‘She Wants to Move’, Pharrell then played an energetic version of ‘Frontin’ as well as other well known songs and randomly Nelly’s ‘Its Getting Hot In Here’, which pleased the party. The set was finished with no surprise ‘Get Lucky’, but as expected it went down a storm.
It was a brave move for Pete Tong to bring an R&B singer out to headline his Opening Party, but once again the man who changed Ibiza has managed to change the Ibiza clubbing experience yet again. The night was then finished with what Pete Tong does a best a proper electric DJ set. Overall a great experience and would recommend to all!
Le Grand Bazaar will continue until the end of August 2013.
