Ariana Grande doesn’t know how boys “do” beards.
The 20-year-old singer, who is dating The Wanted’s Nathan Sykes, is known for her girly onstage looks and pretty red carpet dresses.
However, she’s been test driving a rather more manly look for work.
“wearing a fake beard all day today on the @samandcat set......... I want to itch my chin off. boys, idk how you do it (sic),” she puzzled on Twitter.
The star released her first album, Yours Truly, this year, which has proved to be a smash hit.
It hit number one in the US Billboard 200 and she’s even been compared to Mariah Carey, but Ariana remains grounded.
“Heard Right There on the radio on my drive home from work again. I'll never get used to that!! Love me someee @1027KIISFM & @JoJoWright :D (sic)” she excitedly wrote on Twitter.
In a recent video interview, Ariana expressed her anger at the way people focus on musicians’ private lives, rather than their work.
She defended her friend Justin Bieber, 19, who has hit the headlines recently after partying with fans and spray-painting the wall of a luxury hotel in Brazil.
"He’s under a microscope and he’s being scrutinised by people who don’t know him,” she ranted in the clip on YouTube.
“And I know him he’s a good person, he really is! He’s a good guy and he doesn’t deserve what he’s going through.”
She also stuck up for 20-year-old Miley Cyrus who is constantly in the spotlight thanks to her tiny stage costumes and provocative dancing.
“She’s an adult, she can do whatever the hell she wants and she looks amazing,” Ariana argued.
“If her choices aren’t for you then don’t look at it, move on, worry about your life not hers – she’s fine, her life is the best it could be right now! That’s what bothers me about people and society. Like, shut up.”
