Beyoncé Knowles and Jay Z are reportedly renewing their wedding vows.
The superstar couple have been dogged by rumours that their marriage is in trouble over the last few months. But now it has been claimed that the American hit maker and her husband are actually looking to the future by re-dedicating themselves to each other, with Jay, 44, allegedly proposing two weeks ago in their New York home.
"Jay had their chefs put together Beyoncé's favourite meal, got her favourite wine and basically proposed all over again," a source told British magazine Heat. "Bey was in tears. It was an incredibly emotional moment for both of them. It's all about a new beginning, a fresh new start, because they were taking each other for granted."
The 33-year-old has been married to the 99 Problems performer for six years and they have one daughter together, two-year-old Blue Ivy.
But over the summer, following the infamous altercation in a lift with Beyoncé's sister Solange, the couple have faced claims they are on the verge of divorce. Jay has been accused of cheating on his wife with numerous women including Rihanna, Rita Ora, Mya and fashion designer Rachel Roy; however neither Beyoncé nor her husband has commented on the allegations.
"Beyoncé is the most important person in the world to Jay," the source continued. "They did a lot of work - soul searching, couple's therapy, and just sitting and talking - to get where they are today. She doesn't want to divorce him and he has reassured her that there's no truth in the rumours - he's the father of her baby and there's an empire at stake; she can't just walk away."
