Bon Jovi to play low price gig in Madrid

Bon Jovi is giving fans in the Spanish capital of Madrid a break, giving up their fee for the show so that the ticket prices can stay low.

Spain is in the midst of a financial crisis that has pushed unemployment to 27% and twice that for people under 25, leaving many citizens cash strapped. By giving up their fee, the promoters have been able to halve the ticket prices to 18 to 39 Euros ($23.50 to $51.00).

According to the Spanish paper, El Mundo, Bon Jovi was going to skip the country altogether, figuring that the economic conditions were too bad to be able to sell tickets, but the band didn't want to "let fans down."

Jon Bon Jovi told the paper "We did a study and we saw that due to the economic situation Spain wasn't going to be on the roadmap. But I didn't want to leave out fans from a country I love that has treated me well for 30 years."

The Madrid date is June 27.
