Brian May in disc torment

Brian May is having a sore Christmas after being diagnosed with two torn spinal discs that are pressing against a nerve in his back.

The soreness first started after his performance at the iHeart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas in September and has gotten progressively worse.

He wrote on December 15 of crippling pain in his "glutes" which have dwarfed any pain left from his August knee surgery.

An MRI the next day showed the reason for the pain and why he was having trouble walking.
