Collibus, the Manchester prog-metallers, launch their stunning debut album The False Awakening on 20th January. Distributed by AWAL through various outlets including iTunes. (Please see attached flyer for list)
Having won the 2013 Discretionary Rock Award of Parliament’s largest competition, Rock the House, Collibus made history by becoming the first metal band ever to play the House of Commons.
Their winning track Dead Inside has already been featured on Scuzz and the band have been booked to play Download Festival in 2014.
Dr Brian May, Queen, said “Collibus is already a phenomenon. Scary musicianship at the most furious end of the metal spectrum, crowned with Gemma Fox's passion and power as a vocalist. Ouch. Impossible to ignore.”
Lead vocalist, Gemma Fox commented “It has been a real labour of love, blood, sweat and tears to make The False Awakening and we couldn't be prouder or more excited as a band that it has finally come together. All credit goes to Ste whos perfectionism we have to thank for its production.”
Rock the House Founder, Mike Weatherley MP, said: “I have no doubt that metal and prog rock fans will love this album as much as I do, I literally have not been able to listen to anything else since the band have drip-fed me the tracks as the album was in development. They were fantastic in Parliament and I cant wait to see them play Download!”
