Courtney Love thinks her landlord’s request for eviction is “weird as heck”.
The troubled musician is facing losing her accommodation as her landlady Donna Lyon believes that the singer destroyed her rented townhouse in the exclusive West Village area of New York City.
There was a fire in the property earlier this year when Courtney’s lit candles set her bedroom drapes on fire.
The singer has also extensively decorated the exclusive $27,000 a month home to her tastes.
Courtney does not think Donna has any reason to object to the décor.
"Having a landlady tell you your Prelle, $2,000-a-yard fabric...is 'destructive' is totally weird (sic)," Courtney wrote in a post on xoJane.com.
"My taste is artful and femme, but it's excellent. I'm 47, have bought and sold 14 houses (16 if you count Washington) and love doing them nicely and tripling the price; it's just never been a question, so this whole experience is weird as heck."
Donna contends that she stipulated to Courtney that redecorating was not allowed when she arrived at the house.
Courtney believes she was entering the rental agreement with the right to adorn the residence however she pleased.
"I moved into this home only on the condition that I could paint it and when I leave, I'd restore it to exactly what it was," Courtney continued. "Since I darkened the door she (the owner) has been vicious to me and my staff."
Courtney claims that she is often mistreated by Donna.
"Donna Lyon, the owner, came over the other day and, after informing me that, 'No one likes you, Courtney Love, NO ONE,' which made me cry, and proceeded to knock over a photo (she's rather... large) of me with Dame Elizabeth Taylor and shatter the mirrored frame,” she recalled.
Courtney has filed a legal motion asking the court to throw out Donna’s petition for eviction.
A court hearing on the matter is set for January 13 2012.
