Emma Watson says Florence + The Machine provided the perfect soundtrack to her birthday.

The Harry Potter star received well wishes by followers on her Twitter account yesterday when she turned 22. She celebrated her special day at the Coachella music festival in California, where she was thrilled to watch Florence Welch perform.

“As far as I'm concerned I turned 22 when @flo_tweet sang "What the Water Gave Me" at Coachella x (sic),” she wrote on her Twitter page.

Emma was earlier pictured kissing her new boyfriend Will Adamowicz in full view of the public at the event. In the photographs, which were published by British newspaper The Daily Mail, Will seems equally infatuated as he gazed at his famous girlfriend. The two have been dating since the end of last year after meeting at Oxford University.

The pair seemed content as Emma enjoyed her birthday and thanked fans for the Twitter messages.

“Just enjoyed a birthday feast of Mac N' Cheese, jelly beans and lemonade. : ) Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Much appreciated!! E xx (sic),” she wrote.

Emma was among several other famous faces who went to the US festival.

Katy Perry, Rihanna, Paris Hilton, Ke$ha, Whitney Port and Rosanna Arquette were also in attendance.

Katy donned her best hippy look in a see-through dress with black underwear and her newly coloured hair in a shade of dark purple.

She was overwhelmed by Sunday's big closing act - Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. The duo included a hologram resurrecting late rappers Tupac Shakur and Nate Dogg.

“I think I might have cried when I saw Tupac,” Katy tweeted.

She also supported her best friend Rihanna who performed at the event in a pair of tiny denim shorts and tank top. Rihanna tweeted about the event afterwards, posting a photograph of herself in the revealing festival outfit.

“@Calvin Harris I had so much fun with your f**king fanz tonight! Diz hoodrat $kabii @katyperry also crowd surft n ATE my A$$ during my show (sic),” she wrote.
