Eurovision Song Contest 2015 the second Semi Final tonight.
Vienna, Austria - the hosts of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest have been revealed. We can now tell you it’s Mirjam Weichselbraun, Alice Tumler and Arabella Kiesbauer to guide Europe through the 60th edition. And yes, the Green Room host will be Conchita Wurst!For the first time in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest three women are in charge for hosting the shows. The Austrian broadcaster ORF has explained the reasoning behind their decision. “The slogan of the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna is Building Bridges which stands for bridges between countries, age groups, tradition and contemporary supported by the pillars of respect and self-determination.” said ORF’s TV Director Kathrin Zechner emphasising women as ’strong and inspiring equal parts of the society’.
“For me it is important to make these powerful, society-shaping women visible to an audience of some 200 million Europeans in a show Austria can be proud of. Mirjam Weichselbraun, Alice Tumler and Arabella Kiesbauer are strong, modern young women and in particular, triple-A professionals.” Zechner underlined.
