Last night, amidst the gravestones of the acoustically stunning Anglican Chapel in the Arnos Grove Cemetery, Mercury Music Prize nominated artist Ghostpoet delivered an emotionally sombre set to kick-start the Nokia Lumia Live Sessions in Bristol.

Nokia and music pioneers La Blogotheque have teamed up to showcase hot new UK music talent at a series of free gigs in amazing venues across the UK. La Blogotheque are a team of bloggers and videographers famous for helping to kick-start the careers of musicians across the world with millions of views across their video blogging phenomenon.

Ghostpoet said: “It was a wonderful project to be involved with and gave me the opportunity to perform in a unique, acoustically amazing setting. With more and more talented musicians out there, it’s so important that artists are given these opportunities to play in front of new audiences. La Blogotheque is known for being involved with emerging and breakthrough artists and it’s a privilege to take the stage for both them and Nokia.”

The live session saw the UK premier of the Makelight app, which enables any audience to form a unique luminous display at any gig, anywhere. The audience was able to personally become part of Ghostpoet’s set as their mobile phones illuminated in time with “Cash and Carry Me Home” creating a light show unlike any they had previously experienced.

Designed to capture the essence of Nokia’s free music streaming service - Nokia Music - the main aim of the sessions is to help people discover new music and talent they will love. Featuring over 22 million tracks, Nokia Music easily caters for every taste, requires no registration or subscription and features no audio advertisements.

The Lumia Live Sessions tour will consist of four more sessions in different cities around the UK every month. The next session will take place in Leeds. Keep an eye on the Lumia Live Sessions website for more news on the next exciting artist to be announced.
