Jay-Z is reportedly paying $1 million a year to rent a nursery at New York City’s Barclays Center.
The hip-hop mogul’s wife Beyoncé Knowles gave birth to their daughter, Blue Ivy, on January 7, 2012.
The rapper, real name Shawn Carter, also has a minority stake in the Brooklyn Nets. The American basketball team is based at the Barclays Center, which also serves as a concert venue.
Jay-Z performed at the venue with Chris Martin to ring in the New Year. And he has apparently arranged for plush accommodations for himself and his growing family whenever he’s there.
“Jay rents a luxurious basement suite for $1 million a year,” a source told UsWeekly magazine.
“It has an area for Blue filled with toys.”
The suite is reportedly the most expensive of those available for rent with the average cost amounting to $550,000 a year.
But it’s not exclusively for kids and the rapper is said to be very generous with its use when he’s not around.
“It's all glass with a champagne bar and TV screen,” the insider explained. “Jay lets friends use his digs when he's not there.”
Jay-Z and Beyonce wed in April 2008.
The couple performed together at the Barclays Center in October as part of the venue’s grand opening.
