The Barclaycard Mercury Prize Sessions kicked off with Music-News.com favourite Tom Odell (scroll down for previous interviews).

With tunes that could make a grown man cry we plundered on.

Then Johnny Marr hits us with grit, angst and a slight bit of meloncholia.

Knocking out the magic tunes from his first complete solo project album 'The Messenger' its hard to believe he was never the front man. Shades of Electronic, The The and Modest Mouse shone through but The Cribs was where he left off and he picks up there.

And why not. If you've got it flirt it baby! Its hard not to love him.

Well we love him. Reborn? I don't think so, just out on his own. Like Neil Young on the 'Rust Never Sleeps' album this man is on a charge.

No one stop him!

If you were not able to attend the gig you will be able to watch tracks from the Sessions on television and online, as each featured artist will be the subject of a dedicated programme to be broadcast on Channel 4.

Further tracks will be available to watch online at www.mercuryprize.com/sessions.
