Justin Bieber’s new single has been likened to previous hits by Justin Timberlake.
The 18-year-old singer has sent fans into a frenzy with news of the release of Boyfriend on March 26. It is the first single from his upcoming album Believe, produced by Mike Posner.
A radio DJ on Baltimore’s Z104.3 had a chance to hear the song ahead of its official debut. He described it as a mix of Justin Timberlake’s Sexy Back and ‘N Sync’s Girlfriend.
“All I'm saying… is wow…so much different than his previous music,” Mike Lee wrote on the radio’s website.
“The best way to describe it is a mix of Justin Timberlake Sexy Back...N Sync Girlfriend --- AND get this... he raps...best comparison is it sounds like Wait by the Ying Yang Twins... (sic).”
Justin is also excited about his new sound. He’s previously said it is unlike his past music and is regularly giving fans updates on Twitter.
“#2WEEKS #14DAYS = all that matters is the MUSIC. #BOYFRIEND,” he wrote.
His fans are just as excited about hearing the new track, with many messaging the singer support.
“In #14days my ears will be very happy. #boyfriend,” one fan tweeted.
Justin’s follow-up to his 2010 album My World 2.0 includes collaborations with Drake, Timbaland, will.i.am and Pharrell.
