Voting has ended for the public's one vote on this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ballot. Their selection will be included with the other 500+ voting members in the selection of the final five inductees for 2014.
A total of 1,390,504 votes were received with KISS taking the most at 239,417 (17.2%) followed by Nirvana, Deep Purple, Yes and Daryl Hall and John Oates. Those five artists will receive the vote from the public.
With the exception of Hall and Oates, who edged out Peter Gabriel by .13%, the results show that the general public is interested in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame being purely about rock music. R&B and Rap artists did particularly poorly with none getting over 3% of the vote.
It also reflects the strong feelings of the public on KISS and Deep Purple, both of which have had huge fan support for induction but not as much interest from the Rock Hall. The same goes for Yes who could become the first progressive/art rock group to be recognized.
