Kings Of Leon slag off Arcade Fire
23 October 2010
Kings Of Leon take a thinly-veiled swipe at Arcade Fire for being pretentious “dicks”.
Kings Of Leon did an interview recently in Spin magazine, with drummer Nathan Followill saying:
“Now it's cool to have 14 people in your band doing everything but contributing musically, running around with a helmet on your head, hitting it with a drumstick. You gotta look at what you're in this for: the love of music? The fame? You can have all that if you're smart and play your cards right and don't become a dick.
Who could they be talking about?
Hipster Runoff did a quick hunt around and found a photo of a member of Arcade Fire (multi-instrumentalist Richard Parry) running around on stage with a helmet on his head, hitting it win a drumstick.
It’s not the first time Kings Of Leon have made themselves unpopular.
Groove Armada’s Andy Kato revealed them to be “dicks” at V Festival, commandeering backstage areas, using security to bully other bands and each arriving in their own black Range Rover.
And who could forget the pigeon poop episode of a couple of months back.
Arcade Fire aren’t shy about replying to trash talk either, Win Butler having a back and forth with Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips last year.
This could get interesting.
