Sean Kingston has reportedly settled his alleged gang rape case.

The 23-year-old singer was accused of raping a drunk teenager in his Seattle hotel room in 2010. The woman is now 22 and yesterday TMZ reported she was suing Sean, his bodyguard and a member of his band for a minimum of $5 million.

It was reported the star would stand trial in November, but the website now claims Sean has settled the case.
“Our sources close to Kingston's team say he paid the alleged victim only a fraction of what she asked for in order to make the lawsuit disappear as soon as possible. They didn't tell us the exact amount of the settlement,” reports TMZ.

The site adds Sean’s alleged decision to settle was not an admission of guilt. He has been working on a new record which he plans to go on tour with, so wants to focus on that and not a “messy civil trial”. The star has always denied raping the woman.

Criminal charges against Sean were dropped in 2010, when it was concluded the woman wasn't credible enough for a case. Sean apparently feels he would have won the civil case if he had faced trial.

The woman in question was identified as Carissa Capeloto yesterday. She is said to have smoked marijuana and consumed between seven and ten shots of vodka before she was invited back to Sean's room for a meet-and-greet, following a Justin Bieber concert. She alleges all three men raped her while she was "obviously intoxicated, incapable of consent".

She claims to have been rescued from the room by a friend, after which police were called and she was taken to hospital and treated for "physical injuries consistent with rape".
