Kylie Minogue says an alleged duet with Madonna is “just a rumour”.

There has been speculation that the pair are set to sing together on a UK television special.

However, Kylie has confirmed that there are no official plans for them to team up.

“Is it true that you're planning to duet w/ Madonna ? #MadonnaKylieDuet (sic),” a fan asked Kylie on Twitter.

“It's just a rumour, but of course it would be amazing!! maybe one day:) (sic),” Kylie replied.

This year Kylie is celebrating 25 years in the music industry. One of the many festivities will be a show on British TV dedicated to her career. Kylie is set to perform with many stars including her sister Dannii. Madonna was alleged to be appearing for the final song of the night.

“There will be lots of duets,” a source told British publication The Mirror. “The plan so far is a finale featuring a duet with Madonna.”

Madonna and Kylie are both big fans of one another’s music and have even worn T-shirts emblazoned with the other’s name.

In the past Kylie has recorded duets with a wide variety of artists including Nick Cave, Robbie Williams and Jason Donovan.
