Lady Gaga is “excited” to announce the dates for her highly-anticipated European tour.
The Grammy Award winner revealed the first 21 dates of The Born This Way Ball today on her Twitter page. She will perform tracks from her album Born This Way and favourites from earlier records The Fame and The Fame Monster.
“ATTENTION EUROPEAN LITTLE MONSTERS: THE BORN THIS WAY BALL FIRST 21 DATES ARE HERE. #ImGoingToTheBTWBall (sic),” the singer wrote.
The first show of the European leg of her global tour kicks off on August 14 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The announcement follows overwhelming ticket sales in Australia and Asia. The global tour, produced by Live Nation, begins on April 27 in Seoul before making its way to Europe.
German electronic dance music DJ and producer ZEDD will support Gaga’s concerts across Asia while her long-time performance partner and DJ Lady Starlight will join her Australian shows.
British rock band The Darkness is the guest for her European concerts. The Poker Face star teased fans on Twitter prior to revealing the dates for the Europe shows.
“The first 21 European dates to THE BORN THIS WAY BALL will be announced and tweeted at 3am EST/12am PST/7am GMT. I'm so excited! #pawsup (sic),” she wrote.
It is her first tour since the release of her album Born This Way which has sold almost six million copies globally since it hit stores last May. Her Grammy Award-winning albums 2009’s The Fame Monster, and 2008’s The Fame have sold 15 million albums worldwide.
"The Haus of Gaga and I have worked for months conceiving a spectacular stage,” Lady Gaga said of the tour in a statement. “The Born This Way Ball is an Electro-Metal Pop-Opera; the tale of the Beginning, the genesis of the Kingdom of Fame. How we were birthed and how we will die celebrating.”
