Avril Lavigne’s marriage with Chad Kroeger reportedly remains on the rocks.
Last month it was claimed the rock star couple were planning to put an end to their union.
And apparently it’s still up in the air as to whether they will remain wed.
"Things still aren't good," a source told E! News. "But Avril's friends are encouraging her to try and work it out. They don't like Chad, but she's already been through one painful divorce and they don't want to see her going through another unless there's no other option. Also, she and Chad haven't been married that long so her friends want her to make sure she's given it every chance before pulling the plug."
Avril’s first husband was Deryck Whibley, whom she was married to from 2006 to 2010.
She and Chad tied the knot in July 2013 after a whirlwind six-month romance.
It’s claimed Avril is so keen on not having to go through a divorce again, she’s been considering becoming a parent.
"Motherhood is something she really wants for herself," the insider detailed. "So this thing with Chad, it's going to go one of two ways. Either they're going to get rid of each other or there's a shot they might try to have a baby to save the marriage. My bet is they end up splitting."
The couple met while working on Avril’s fifth album in 2012 and was quick to fall in love.
Unfortunately the LP didn’t sell too well and this professional conflict has supposedly put a strain on her relationship with Chad.
“[She’s] a bit lost right now," the source said. "Her career isn't in the best place and she's trying to figure out what she wants for her future. She's trying to write music and she paints, but her life is in limbo.”
