Michael Jackson’s children say their father would’ve been “proud” of the the Cirque Du Soleil tribute show.
Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket went to see Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour performed by the Cirque Du Soleil in Las Vegas over the weekend.
They were full of praise for the visionary, acrobatic interpretation of their late father’s work.
“He admired the Cirque Du Soleil people, the acrobats, because they can convey a story through their body and emotions through the way they act,” Prince Michael, 14, told Access Hollywood. “I think he’d be very proud that they made a show out of his legacy.”
Paris agreed with her brother.
Certain elements reminded the 13-year-old of her childhood and she wished her dad was still alive to see the show.
“He would have been proud, and he would have loved to be here to see it,” Paris added.
“All of the acts are just completely amazing and very creative. I love the gates of Neverland. When I first saw that, it brought tears to my eyes. It was amazing. I grew up in Neverland, and it’s just like, bringing back memories.”
Prince Michael revealed that his favourite part of the show was the Thriller dance number.
He loved seeing a new interpretation of one of his father’s most famous tracks.
“I like the Thriller part,” he said. “It’s fun — they come out with the bat suits and everything. I also like the light up jackets for Billie Jean. It’s really cool with the lights and stuff.”
Having been inspired by their father and his famous siblings the kids are eager to get involved in the entertainment industry themselves.
When asked about what they would like to do in the future, Paris and Prince Michael were excited about the opportunities available to them.
“Acting,” Paris said.
“All possibilities are open for us right now,” Prince revealed.
