Nicki Minaj's ex-boyfriend is apparently having suicidal thoughts.
The 32-year-old was with Safaree Samuels for 12 years and managed to keep their relationship private despite being in the public eye. But following their recent breakup, the spotlight has been on the former couple.
Now TMZ is reporting Nicki's ex is finding the split hard to cope with and has even been talking about taking his own life.
According to the gossip site he's spending all his time at home, smoking marijuana and mentioning suicide.
Recently the Super Bass star has been spending a lot of time with fellow musician Meek Mill and there were rumours they are dating, although she's insisted she is single.
However, Safaree apparently refuses to get in touch with Nicki because he thinks she hooked up with Meek. He also reportedly believes Meek ruined their relationship by making false allegations Safaree cheated.
TMZ writes his friends want him to seek help, but that a current professional he is seeing is giving him medication that makes him even more emotional.
It's not just Safaree who is finding it hard to deal with the break up. Nicki recently broke down in tears when she discussed their split on radio station Power 105.1.
“My relationship was based off of love,” she said. “And there still is nothing but love there. This is not some person I picked up off the street. This is somebody I grew up with. Like, I don’t even know how I’m gonna function without that person in my life. I’ve never lived my life as a famous person without him.”
She added that her career pushed them apart, as they would be married with kids by now if she wasn't famous. Nicki also added that she would never disrespect their past or joke about her ex.
