The Malta Eurovision Song Contest is by far considered the most popular music event and TV show in Malta. Over the years we have witnessed changes and continuous substantial improvements to the event. This year PBS has chosen to take a different approach in the presentation of the festival.

Former Maltese Eurovision representative and one of Malta’s best scoring artists Ira Losco will be joined by fellow singer and doctor Gianluca Bezzina as well as by TV producer and presenter Moira Delia to host both soirées. Ira and Gianluca will be in charge of the entertaining part of the show while Moira will be responsible for the more formal part of the show.

Ira Losco is undoubtedly Malta’s most successful senior Eurovision artist to date. Since her success in 2002, she has progressed in her career and has released five studio albums, two compilation albums and two EP’s. She has also had the opportunity to perform alongside other international artists such as Sir Elton John, Rod Stewart, Akon, Maroon 5, Katie Melua, Mel C, Ronan Keating and many more.

Gianluca Bezzina, a doctor by profession, also known as the smiling doctor, represented Malta in last year’s edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden. He is the highest ranking Maltese artist over the past decade and finished in a respectable eighth position in the grand-final with a total score of 120 points with the song Tomorrow co-written by Boris Cezek and Dean Muscat. The song Tomorrow became the first and only Maltese Eurovision Song Contest entry to make it to number 37 in the Singles Chart in the United Kingdom.

The third host of the contest is Moira Delia. She will be providing updates from the hall and will be taking short interviews with the artists present in the Green Room. Moira will also be hosting the much awaited Red Carpet Show on TVM just before the grand final of the Malta Eurovision on Saturday.

The Malta Eurovision Song Contest will take place on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th February 2014 at the Malta Fairs and Convention Centre (MFCC) in Ta’ Qali. The 27th Maltese Eurovision representative will be determined by the votes of local and international jury and televoting. The winner will earn the ticket to represent the island in Denmark between 6th and 10th May 2014.
