Paris Jackson has opened up about being the victim of bullies.
The late daughter of Michael Jackson discussed her experiences with both internet trolls and “fake” school friends in an interview with US TV star Oprah Winfrey.
The teenager bravely explained that there are a lot of people who try to insult her but insisted that the mean verbal attacks don’t affect her.
“People have tried [to bully me] but it doesn’t always work,” she told Oprah, before explaining where she had encountered her tormentors. “At school, and some people try to cyber-bully me. They try to get to me with words but it doesn’t really work. A lot of people don’t like me. I don’t know… I don’t know what it is. Maybe [they are jealous], I don’t know.”
Paris also explained how she deals with fellow students who gossip behind her back.
The middle child of the tragic King of Pop, the 14-year-old relies on her network of supportive friends and doesn’t engage with the bullies.
“If I feel someone’s being fake to me, I will just push away. There are kids at my school that talk so bad behind my back and they don’t think that I can hear them… Sometimes I can hear them, a lot of times my friends will tell me what they say, and I’m like, ‘OK. Cool,’” she said.
