Seal has revealed his wife Heidi Klum “prefers” hearing him perform original songs.
The British musician is currently promoting his new album Soul 2. Seal recorded a series of his favourite soul songs for the record.
Although he is proud of his latest musical offering, he admits his supermodel wife would rather see him sing new material.
“Soul 2 is a follow up to Soul 1. But rather than take the traditional soul classics that we worked on before, Trevor Horn and I decided to pick songs that were more relevant to my youth. So songs like Wishing on a Star, Love Don’t Live Here Anymore – those are records I actually remember buying when I was a teenager. There is a slightly more unusual selection of songs,” he explained to UK TV show Daybreak.
“[Heidi] doesn’t really like the soul albums, I have to confess. She prefers it when I do my original material. But she appreciates that I am happy.”
Seal also spoke about his choice of Halloween outfit this year.
Seal and Heidi are renowned for their outrageous fancy dress costumes and decided to dress as monkeys for the spooky holiday last month.
The singer admits it was an arduous process to prepare for their Halloween party.
“This year was a lot different because we were lucky enough to hire the services of this Oscar-winning make-up artist,” he explained.
“It was the first time we had prosthetics done and I have never had them before. It was a six-hour job of sitting there. It is a sponge rather than a hard shell mask and they glue it to your skin millimetre by millimetre – so by the time it is set you can make facial expressions and they will transfer to the make-up. But when it is on, it’s really claustrophobic.”
