Simone Battle has been found dead at 25.
The American singer was part of girlgroup G.R.L. who had been making waves in the music industry.
She was found dead on Friday morning at her LA home, with the news confirmed earlier today in a statement from RCA Records, Reign Deer Entertainment, Robin Antin and Kemosabe Records.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the loss of Simone Battle of G.R.L.
“Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time,” it read.
Her father Anthony E Battle spoke to the MailOnline about how missed Simone will be.
“She will be greatly missed and loved. She was an exuberant person and a very loved person,” Anthony told the publication.
The sad news was first reported by producer Derek Butler, who uploaded a photo of the star to his Twitter account and captioned it with, “I'm still in shock and in disbelief to have confirmed the death of my childhood friend @SimoneBattle (sic).”
Her cause of death is as yet unknown.
Fans of Simone first saw her star rise on the US X Factor when she auditioned in 2011 and made it as one of the girls in Simon Cowell’s category.
Following her successful stint on the show she landed a job with a new girlband formed by Robin Antin who created The Pussycat Dolls.
The group is made up of Lauren Bennett, Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton and Paula van Oppen and they had recently released track Ugly Heart in the UK.
