Joining a growing number of public figures, the American singer, ex-girlfriend of both Simon Cowell and Brad Pitt, and sometime X-Factor judge is the latest celebrity to film a video for the Out4Marriage.org campaign, which calls for global equal marriage for gay couples.
In her video, Sinitta, who is best known for hits such as 'So Macho', 'Toy Boy' and 'Right Back Where We Started', as wells as her appearances in West End shows and the X-Factor, said: "I believe in love and I also believe in marriage. I've been married and I hope one day to marry again. Most of all I believe in all people being able to celebrate their love in marriage; gay people, straight people, black people, white people - all people. That's why I'm Out4Marriage, are you?"
Modelled on the It Gets Better Project, Out4Marriage allows politicians, celebrities, religious leaders and members of the public to record YouTube videos explaining why they support changing the law to allow gay couples to marry.
This week the campaign has received support from senior politicians including British Home Secretary Theresa May and the former Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, as well as MPs across all parties.
Sinitta joins high-profile supporters of Out4Marriage including Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson; girl group The Saturdays; Stephen Fry, Britain's Got Talent judge David Walliams; Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper; and gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell. Over the coming days, Out4Marriage will be sharing further high-profile videos.
