James Buckley, one of the stars of The Inbetweeners, has made his directorial debut with the new single from hotly-tipped (and fellow Essex residents) The Milk. ‘Every Time We Fight’ – in which Buckley also stars - will see a release on June 24, in advance of the band’s summer dates, and an album in September.

Describing his involvement with The Milk, whom he admits to being a fan of for some time, Buckley comments: “It’s been the most rewarding thing I’ve done in my career so far. I put myself forward to direct the video and I came up with the concept as well. We shot it in a working men's club in Dagenham that my dad would take me to on a Friday night, and I still go now. There’s this back story of a factory closing and how the people then come together as a community: I play the worker who rallies them together. The band wrote the song at the same time as the London riots, so the videos’ in part a reflection on that as well."

Buckley found fame playing foul-mouthed and girl hungry Jay Cartwright in the hit British sitcom The Inbetweeners, which lead to the box office breaking film in 2011 earning £45 million. Recent suggestions of a fourth and final season of the show have been dismissed by Buckley who’s reportedly looking to continue his career in the film industry having landed a role in the new Hollywood movie ‘The Necessary Death Of Charlie Countryman’.

The Milk, meanwhile, will play extensive summer dates in support of ‘Every Time We Fight’, before releasing their debut album – ‘Tales From the Thames Delta’ – via Sign Of the Times / Sony in September.
