Pink resonates with a certain demographic of fan. Her audience is made up of mostly women aged 25-35. They love Pink and Pink sings for them.

It is hard to explain Pink’s Australian success. It is not duplicated anywhere else in the world. Sure, she has hits in America and the UK but she has nowhere near the fanatic following she has in Australia. She is truly a phenomenon here.

The Pink shows have become larger than life and The Truth About Love tour is no exception. The Truth About Love is a pop spectacle from start to finish. It is the ultimate Pop Circus complete with acrobats, stunts, a ringmaster of ceremonies and dancers.

The Truth About Love tour goes one step further than the previous Funhouse tour. This one is more theatre show than a music concert. Pink is suspended and spinning high above the crowd much more this time around and that means less real singing and many more costume changes.

Lets hope she doesn’t take it too far. The Truth About Love is much more ‘Musical’ than ‘Music’. Not that the fans care. They were there for the message more than the music and songs like ‘U + Ur Hand’, ‘Slut Like You’ and ‘Fucking Perfect’ have become anthems to her audience.

Chris Isaak’s ‘Wicked Game’ was an interesting inclusion. It was one big theatrical dance number. Pink also performed Cyndi Lauper’s ‘Time After Time’. Cyndi struck a similar chord with the same aged female fans in the mid 80s.

What is incredible is Pink’s ability to sell-out 18 concerts at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena breaking her own record from the Funhouse tour.

The Pink show production stands alongside that of Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears.

The Truth About Love tour will continue in Melbourne for July 8, 10, 11, 13, 13, 16 and 17 before heading to Brisbane on July 19.
