Spotify has today revealed Richard Marx’s Right Here Waiting as the UK’s most popular love song ahead of Valentine’s Day.
The 1989 classic track is the favourite from Spotify users based on streaming figures from ‘love song’ playlists. It narrowly beat Foreigner’s epic ballad I Want To Know What Love Is into second place, whilst Elton John’s romantic number Your Song is third.
The top 10 features a whole host of ultimate romantic ballads from artists famed for getting people in the mood for love.

By clicking spotify.com/playlistpoetry, you can search for song titles from Spotify’s catalogue of over 20million+ songs, which can then be pieced together to create your own romantic verses. Once you’ve created your poem, you can share it as a Spotify playlist, sending it to your significant other for free.
