Tyler Posey used to get "excited" when holding hands with Miley Cyrus.
The 23-year-old actor first met the former Disney star during his time on TV drama Doc alongside her dad Billy Ray Cyrus. Tyler previously revealed he was Miley's first boyfriend and that they were each other's first kiss while they were together. Talking to ETonline, he was happy to divulge more details.
“I was basically the only kid on set. She would come on set every now and then and we became really good friends. We were both goofy and she was really loud, sweet, and funny - just a really cool kid," he recalled fondly.
“We were so damn young... I would get excited when we would hold hands."
Tyler was with Miley from the age of nine until he was 11, when their young love fizzled out.
The pop star is a far cry from her former self now with her sexy new image, which came about in the lead up to her split from ex-fiancé Liam Hemsworth in September 2013. She's even come out as bisexual recently, revealing she spoke to her mother about her sexuality when she was 14.
It doesn't surprise Tyler, who says the 22-year-old has always been comfortable in her own skin.
“She was herself at seven years old. She knew who she was,” he said. “I never met anyone like that at my age.”
Tyler's understanding and support of her sexual preferences comes from personal encounters - the actor has several family members and friends who are gay. He was speaking about the LGBT movement while on the red carpet of Logo’s second annual Trailblazer Honors, encouraging people to be themselves.
“It's really cool to be part of the generation that is experiencing all of this love,” he smiled.
