Van Halen enters the studio with David Lee Roth

The boys from Van Halen have entered the studio to record a new album with David Lee Roth, their first since 1984's 1984.

No official word has been released, but producer John Shanks, who has been rumored to be helming the album, Tweeted on Thursday "here we go kids ... vh" followed shortly by the following closeup of Eddie Van Halen's amp.

The only one missing from the reunion is bassist Michael Anthony who has been replaced in the group by Eddie's 19-year-old son Wolfgang.
