The restaurants and bars of Heddon Street, London, W1; Regent Street’s food quarter will host the ultimate celebration to honour Ziggy Stardust, the man who fell to earth outside 23 Heddon Street in 1972.
Heddon Street just of Regent Street, London W1 is an iconic location for all Ziggy Stardust fans. The Living Room, The Ice Bar, tibits, Strawberry Moons, Strada and Aubaine are all offering a little something on the Ziggy Stardust theme on the 40th anniversary on June 6.
There will be a Ziggy tribute artist performing live playing the Ziggy album in its entirety as the first set, then classic Bowie as the second set. He will be wearing his homage to Ziggy and wearing a jumpsuit as a near copy of Ziggy’s on the album cover. He will perform 2 X 50 min sets, the first at 7pm.
Strawberry Moons are creating cocktail called “Rock and Roll suicide” 25ml gin, 12.5 Martini dry, 12.5 Absinth.
Vegetarian restaurant tibits have created a ‘’Stardust’’ cocktail which is made with a rose, cardamom and lemon zest syrup with triple sec and noilly prat for £7.50
The Ice Bar cocktail is a “Starman with 40ml Tanqueray Gin, 20ml Oloroso Sherry, 5 ml Maraschino syrup and Angostura Bitters. Served in a coupette and garnished with Maraschino Cherry. And will be on the menu for £7.70 but also available as a happy hour cocktail for £5.50 (until 7pm).
The Living Room: Will be serving burger tasters to all guests outside on the terrace as well as a one of themed menu & sparkly cocktail for the evening.
Heddon Street is honoured to be celebrating this momentous anniversary under the recently unveiled commemorative plaque.
The iconic image cover catapulted David Bowie to international stardom, creating an army of pop stars with spikey hair and edgy alter egos, a trend which later evolved into the glam rock movement for which Ziggy was the poster boy. This plaque pays homage to an enduring iconic creation of British Pop, meaning fans from all over the world can visit the place where the dynamic character of Ziggy was immortalised on camera.
