Labour supporter Dave Rowntree, who is better known as the drummer in Blur, has spoken in his blog on the Huffington Post UK about a law still in place that states if anyone is caught in public wearing anything that shows you to be a supporter of a political party then you are breaking the law. Rowntree is studying to be a solicitor and found the law while doing some legal research.

He said: “It is an unusual law, because while you can be arrested on sight for wearing your 'Vote Labour' tee shirt, you can only be prosecuted if the Attorney General authorises it. However, you can be remanded in custody for 8 days while he or she decides, and if convicted, you face three months in prison.”
