We headed to the O2 Shepherd's Bush on Tuesday for the sold-out homecoming gig of the Stoke Newington-born, County Wexford-raised singer Maverick Sabre. Having followed his music for many years, it is always a pleasure to see him perform, especially in a more intimate setting.

After taking two years out to experience life before the release of his second album, you could almost feel how good he was feeling on the night as his enthusiasm and positive vibes washed over the crowd. The break left fans eager to hear what the singer will be bringing to the table next and the lucky audience in the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire were able to get a taste.

With no need for big production or impressive outfits, Sabre can honestly let his talent do all of the work as his soulful voice provides delight to those around him. Sabre kicked things off with a performance of 'These Days', a rousing, soulful track from his epic first album 'Lonely Are The Brave'.

The rest of the night consisted of beyond impressive vocals, beautifully written lyrics, treats from the upcoming album and a passionate Sabre bopping around the stage. With an abundance of charisma, the star engaged with the audience throughout the night; grateful to his loyal fans for coming out to see him. Looking around the venue, I could see the joy on everyone's faces to see him back in action, with many mouthing the lyrics back to him on stage.

I'm sure I speak many in saying the new album release is highly anticipated; it will no doubt a beautiful piece of work from one of the most talented artist's of our time! Maverick Sabre, you can do no wrong!
