The Bible made a rare appearance on stage at the beautifully refurbished Islington Assembly Hall on Friday night (1st March 2013) to rapturous applause in celebration of the 25th anniversary of second album 'Eureka'.

In a set lasting an hour and a half the five piece, consisting of four original members Boo Hewerdine, Neill MacColl, Tony Shepherd and Leroy Lendor along with Kate St. John (Dream Academy) and drummer Martyn Barker, played a stunning set.

A veritable feast of music was on offer with 'Honey Be Good', 'Graceland', 'Crystal Palace' and a rare live rendition of 'Eureka' the title track of the album which weirdly never made it onto the final tracklisting.

'Skywriting', 'Skeleton Crew', 'Cigarette Girls', 'White Feathers' and 'Red Hollywood' from 'Eureka' all made it into the set.

Two new also tracks also got their first live outing 'Static' and 'Money Spider' proving that The Bible are far from a spent force. In classic Bible style they will hopefully form part of a new album which is being worked on by the band as and when schedules allow.

The evening proved to be a welcome reminder that the Bible are still one of the best live acts around with rich repertoire of emotionally charged songs that will coax even then harshest critic into submission.

With a deluxe reissue of 'Eureka' including bonus material just released it's never too late to get into The Bible and enjoy a truly classic album 25 years on but sounding as crisp as the day it was first pressed. For more info check out the official website www.thebibletheband.com.
