Sam Fender is preparing his debut in Portugal at the 17th edition of NOS Alive, when he will take to the NOS Stage on July 11th. The British rock sensation arrives at Passeio Marítimo de Algés with a new album to win over the Portuguese public.
Sam Fender's debut album Hypersonic Missiles (2019) showcased a clever and astute British songwriter with a knack for euphoric, impactful guitar anthems. The album included the incomparable Seventeen Going Under (2021) that catapulted the Newcastle artist to stardom and took him around the world whilst racking up a string of awards (BRITs, NMEs, Ivor Novellos and a prestigious Mercury Prize nomination).
People Watching, the new album from the musician from North Shields, arrives on February 21st this year, with the single of the same name available now. It's the sound of an artist focusing squarely on what makes music so joyful and emotionally resonant. The song was written for his late friend and mentor, Annie Orwin, and is based on Sam's thoughts as she travelled to and from her hospice home. “People Watching” is undeniable. A song with heart, soul and a euphoric feeling written by a British musician whose observations about life as he lives it have seen him headline summer festivals and sell out stadiums. Sam Fender became one of the most celebrated and successful British musicians of his generation.
2025, Sam Fender returns to write a new chapter in his history, with his debut show in Portugal on the NOS Stage at NOS Alive.
Additionally, North American indie rock trio Bright Eyes are the latest confirmation for the 17th edition of NOS Alive. The North American band founded by Conor Oberst performs for the first time in Portugal on July 12th at the festival's Heineken Stage.
Five Dice, All Threes, is the band's new and 10th studio album, which almost 3 decades after its beginning continues to be one of the references of North American indie rock. The trio formed by Conor, Mike and Nate continues to operate in large, distinct movements: each unique in sound and narrative, but always guided by a growing ambition and emotional intensity.
Bright Eyes' debut at Passeio Marítimo de Algés is scheduled for July 12th, on the Heineken Stage at NOS Alive'25.
